ETEEAP
( Credits for Prior Learning/Life-long Learning/Adult Education )

What is ETEEAP?

ETEEAP is an equivalency program. The basis for the grant of the degree is the work experience and other prior learning. ETEEAP means Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program.  Executive Order 330, Series of 1996 was promulgated by the then President of the Republic of the Philippines, His Excellency Fidel V. Ramos providing for deputized Higher Education Institutions to grant earned Bachelor’s degree on the basis of at least 5 years of work experience related to the degree applied.  CIT University is one of the earliest deputized institutions.  CIT University celebrated its 23rd ETEEAP Anniversary in June of 2022.

“We honor your learnings in life.”

*NON-FORMAL LEARNING is intentional and gained by the individual through participation in organized workplace-based training, non-credit courses and workshops the completion of which does not lead to receiving formal credit.

**INFORMAL LEARNING is incidental learning that results from life experiences, workplace-based learning, volunteer activities, self-directed learning, family responsibilities, and others.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Can I have complete details of ETEEAP?

Since ETEEAP is a complicated program, we have a regular Orientation Session that threshes out all the important details of CIT University ETEEAP. For now, we would appreciate specific questions from your end, and we would gladly answer your concerns point by point.

Please send here your Bio-Data/ Curriculum Vitae/ Resume for a quick evaluation of your qualifications and eligibility for ETEEAP. We will provide you with more helpful information should you be determined to be eligible.

We conduct a full orientation to admitted applicants since ETEEAP is drastically different from the regular programs and we have to clear many of the mindsets of enrollees that will hamper the ease of program completion. The orientation will help the candidate navigate through the program and ensure that the completion of the program will be quick and meaningful. Candidates will be given the conferencing credentials in due time, after the batch is organized.

2. WHAT COURSE/ACADEMIC PROGRAM DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR ME?

What is your line of work? What academic degree might you be interested in? We are going to factor in your work experience with your interest to be able to make a sound recommendation.

Please also be reminded that ETEEAP degrees cannot be pursued unless the degree pursued is related to the applicant's work experience. The related and meaningful experience must at least be 5 years.

  • 3. Qualifications of the individual applying for equivalency and accreditation

  • 3.3 For an employed applicant she or he should have an aggregate of at least five years in the industry related to the academic degree program or discipline where equivalency of learning is sought

3. How long is the program?

Normally for board programs, ETEEAP could take as long as two semesters or longer, depending upon the progress of the candidate.

For non-board programs, it may take only 1 semester, depending on the prior learning of the candidate, the progress of the candidate and the efficiency with which the candidate submits the requirements of the program.

4. How much is the tuition?

Fees vary per program/academic degree and per individual since fees assessment is also based on candidate merit and qualifications. The Total Fees is for the WHOLE program, not tuition and not on a semester basis, since the ETEEAP candidate’s engagement in the program will be relatively short. A degree program delivered under the ETEEAP framework is only about 1/3 of the cost of the regular programs, or even less. Enrollment deposit of PHP5,350/PHP8,350 as the case may be, is deductible from the Total Fees Assessment. The minimum fee is PHP40K for non-technical programs, and PHP50K for technical programs (like Engineering and IT) payable within the duration of the study and in specified amounts prior to the terminal assessment. However, we are unable to quote the exact amount of fees unless the applicant submits ALL the credentials/documents since the bases for the assessment are the length and quality of work experience and the prior college credits- the higher the qualifications, the lower the fees.

THUS, THE AMOUNT APPLICABLE TO YOUR SPECIFIC CIRCUMSTANCES AND THE MAXIMUM CANNOT BE DETERMINED UNLESS the CANDIDATE SUBMITS the ePORTFOLIO containing ALL CREDENTIALS FOR ASSESSMENT. PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR CREDENTIALS USING THE LINK.
